About me

Copyright: Nick Renaud-Komiya

I am an experienced freelance journalist, copywriter and editor based in London.

Since 2013 I have reported extensively on healthcare issues, financial markets and public policy in the UK, alongside new technology and start-ups, as well as general news.

My reporting and feature writing has been published in national newspapers, magazines, specialist business-to-business media, regional press, and across a variety of platforms – print and online.

Over the last five years I have worked as a reporter covering complex areas within UK health policy and the European financial markets, in addition to stints covering general news in the national press. More recently I have worked as an editor and reporter at MoneySavingExpert.com, the nation's leading personal finance and consumer advocacy website.

I enjoy being a specialist a great deal, as it allows me to get to the heart of complex stories that have a profound impact on taxpayers, businesses and wider society.

I have built up a strong knowledge of the machinery of government and the UK political process, alongside an extensive contacts book in the worlds of UK & European health policy and the global healthcare sector.

In 2016 I was shortlisted for the MHP Communications '30 to Watch' young journalists awards.

Since going freelance in spring 2017, I have worked with a large number of media organisations and commercial clients to produce insightful and engaging editorial.

Between 2013 and 2016, I worked as a reporter at the Health Service Journal, the widely respected specialist publication covering the NHS in England for an audience of policy makers and senior healthcare managers. During my three years at HSJ, I worked my way up to become a senior reporter.

I then covered mergers and acquisitions within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector across Europe at Mergermarket Group (Now Acuris), serving a readership of fund managers and investment bankers.

Aside from more conventional news reporting and feature writing work, I previously worked as an editorial assistant at Prospect magazine, commissioning blogs and features for the current affairs publication’s website.

My work has been cited in research published by organisations including The Kings Fund, Reform and The Fabian Society.

I have also lectured on media matters.
